Miesi\u0105c temu zosta\u0142em zaproszony przez Ilkaya Karabacaka z Instytutu Dialogu Dunaj<\/span><\/a> do przeprowadzenia warsztatu dotycz\u0105cego r\u00f3\u017cnic mi\u0119dzykulturowych i zwi\u0105zanych z nimi tabu. Kilkoro wolontariuszy Instytutu uczestniczy w moich zaj\u0119ciach na Wydziale Psychologii Akademii Ekonomiczno-Humanistycznej i zosta\u0142em przez nich polecony \ud83d\ude42 Mimo \u017ce takie tematy jak tabu kulturowe niekoniecznie le\u017c\u0105 w obr\u0119bie moich zainteresowa\u0144 psychologicznych, mam du\u017ce do\u015bwiadczenie kontaktu z innymi kulturami dzi\u0119ki prowadzeniu delfinoterapii w Turcji oraz uczestnictwu w ponad dwudziestu programach unijnych organizowanych m.in. w ramach Youth in Action oraz Erasmus Plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warsztat dotyczy\u0142 przede wszystkim stereotyp\u00f3w mi\u0119dzykulturowych. Zgodnie z opisem: „Mini trening b\u0119dzie skoncentrowany na stereotypach, kt\u00f3re s\u0105 powszechne w naszych krajach, i na tym, jak wp\u0142ywaj\u0105 na nasz\u0105 percepcj\u0119 i nasze dzia\u0142ania. Pytanie brzmi: czy jeste\u015bmy \u015bwiadomi naszych r\u00f3\u017cnic w percepcji, czy te\u017c one \u201ewydarzaj\u0105 si\u0119\u201d w spos\u00f3b niezamierzony? I czy uczenie si\u0119 mi\u0119dzykulturowe jest w stanie poradzi\u0107 sobie z tymi r\u00f3\u017cnicami?”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zapraszam do obejrzenia relacji z wydarzenia na Facebooku<\/span><\/a>. Warsztat rozpocz\u0119li\u015bmy dwoma „icebreakerami” czyli \u0107wiczeniami na prze\u0142amanie lod\u00f3w mi\u0119dzy uczestnikami, nast\u0119pnie wpierw w parach, a potem na forum grupy rozmawiali\u015bmy o naszych zderzeniach z innymi kulturami, czyli najbardziej dziwnych, zdumiewaj\u0105cych i niekomfortowych sytuacjach, w jakich si\u0119 znale\u017ali\u015bmy za granic\u0105. Na koniec poruszy\u0142em temat „koz\u0142a ofiarnego” czyli tendencji np. w spo\u0142ecze\u0144stwie do nieuzasadnionego albo nadmiernego obwiniania danej grupy etnicznej, wyznaniowej, zwi\u0105zanej z okre\u015blon\u0105 orientacj\u0105 seksualn\u0105. Bardzo mi\u0142ym gestem na koniec by\u0142 prezent, jaki otrzyma\u0142em od organizator\u00f3w: \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One month ago I was invited by Ilkay Karabacak from the Dunaj Dialogue Institute<\/span><\/a> to lead a workshop on intercultural differences and taboos. There are some volunteers of the Institute that take part in my classes at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Economics and Human Sciences and I was recommended by them to deal with this issue \ud83d\ude42 Although topics such as cultural taboos are not necessarily in the area of my psychological interest, I have much experience with other cultures thanks to my work in Turkey as a dolphintherapist and participation in over twenty EU programs organized among others from Youth in Action and Erasmus Plus grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop was focused on intercultural cliches. As mentioned in the description: „The mini training will be focused on clich\u00e9s and stereotypes that are common in our countries \u2013 how they influence our perception and our actions. The question is: are we aware of our differences in perception or do they „happen” unintentionally? And is intercultural learning able to deal with these differences?”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We started with two icebreakers to get to know each other better and then we moved to the main topic – discussion in pairs and in the whole group about most bizzare, shocking and uncomfortable situations we experienced while being abroad. At the end I mentioned the „scapegoating” mechanism – tendency observed eg. in the community to blame some minority group (ethnic, religious, based on the sexual orientation) to an unjustified or excessive level.
