It was my first training course entirely in French 😉 I had participated in trainings translated to more languages (in French-German-Polish and in French-English) but never in a training totally in French, so it was quite a challenge for me. What was making this experience less difficult was the fact that I knew the content of the training in English and Polish so I just needed to learn French terminology. And it was also the reason why I decided to take part in this project – to learn French on a sufficient level to lead trainings also in this language in future.
Emerging phase started 6 weeks before the TC with infoletters that we were receiving each Monday. I consider it as a good idea, one of our tasks was to send a self-presentation to be included in one of the infoletters. Thanks to it we could get to know each other, our experience, occupation and hobbies, even before meeting face to face. Here is my self-presentation 🙂

The TC took place in Rochefort-en-Terre (Bretagne) from September the 17th to 22nd 2024. It was a lovely, intimate place close to Redon (we needed to rent a bus to reach our destination), we were accommodated in double bungalows and were spending days in Le Domain de Moulin Neuf restaurant. The project was organized by the Belgian National Agency with Thierry Dufour as a representative of the NA and Denis Morel, Jo Claeys and Simona Molari as trainers. The training was very intensive and contrary to my expectations most of participants were from French-speaking countries (France and Belgium). It made this experience harder since French is my third language and second foreign language, after English. At the same time there was no „escape” from practicing French so my goal to improve my French in terms of non-formal education was achieved 🙂 The group was much encuoraging and supportive, for which I am grateful. The content of the TC covered most of the topics reffering to NFE (assuming that you can cover these topics in four days) like the division into formal, non-formal and informal education, methods of self-reflection, learning process etc.

While being in France I could not miss some sightseeing 😉 I arrived in Paris one day before the project so had some time to visit the Eiffel Tower (for the second time in my life, the first time was in my primary school), Basilique du Sacre-Coeur; there were still olimpic signs as a remnant of the Olympic Games 2024. While planning my trip when I realised I would be close to Mont-Saint-Michel so I had a strong desire to visit it, that’s why I stayed one day longer in Rennes and had a five-hour-trip to the island. Unforgettable memories!
